BEAUTIFUL IMPERFECTIONS
Blue Dusk
SGD 175.00
This photograph was taken along the coasts of Ayukawa, Japan. As evening came, the skies were painted in wondrous pastel colors which thoroughly captivated my family and I. We made our way to the coasts to capture this magnificent sight using my trusty medium format film camera.
It happened that the particular roll of film used to capture this image, was the very same I had troubles loading which led to the first shot being exposed to light in the process. While I did expect the film burn effect to impact the first shot taken with the roll, I certainly wasn’t expecting the warm sunset to be transformed into a monochromatic blue dusk.
The darkening seas turned into a white expanse, the skies a canvas of blue. And it left me marveling, at what a little light can do.

The custom wood frames made for this collection of prints were created in collaboration with Isaac from @Avowoodworks , a local woodworker based in Singapore. The frames were skillfully handcrafted using local solid woods, namely Rain tree for the body of the frame, as well as Tembusu for splines that reinforce each corner of the frame. The splines not only add robustness to the corners of the frames, but a visual point of interest as well due to the contrasting grains.
