“Sally was three when she first set her eyes on a sewing machine. Her mother would spend many hours  making clothes for the family on a machine that was powered mechanically by a foot pedal. Back in the 60s, it was common for a household to own one. Sally would watch and observe her mother as she worked, and by the age of seven, she had already picked up the art of sewing.”
